Names are transcribed as they are
written resulting in a variety of spellings and formats for some
names. Although it may be obvious to some people that J. Adams, J
S Adams, J Smith Adams, James Adams, James S Adams, and James Smith
Adams may all be the same people, the job of a transcriber is to
transcribe what they see and for the genealogist to then make the
connections so it is recommended that you look carefully at
alternative spellings and abbreviations. |
