The Council of the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Inc. consists of up to 15 Councillors who are elected annually. The incoming Council takes office at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting which is usually held in April of each year.
All Council positions are Honorary.
Members are invited to nominate for Council positions in the
December edition of the AIGS magazine, The Genealogist. Their
duties — which are outlined HERE — are defined at that time.
Nominations for these positions open on the third Monday in January and close at 3.30pm on the third Monday in February each year.
